EBM Office Bridge Ribbon Appearing Twice in Excel

Issue

The EBM Office Bridge ribbon is showing up twice or is duplicated in an Excel file.

Cause

This issue is typically caused by:

1. Linked Workbooks – The file contains an artifact from another linked cube file. You can check this under Data > Workbook Links in Excel.
2. Duplicate or Corrupt Cube Connections – Multiple, stale, or corrupt cube connections exist under Data > Queries and Connections in Excel.

Resolution

Option 1: Break Linked Workbooks

1. Go to Data > Workbook Links and check for any linked workbooks.
2. If a link exists, break the link to remove the artifact.
3. If you need to keep the link, locate the linked file, run it through the Cube Update function in Catalyst, save it over the old file, and then reestablish the reference in your original file.

Option 2: Remove Duplicate or Corrupt Cube Connections

1. Open Data > Queries and Connections in Excel.
2. Identify and delete any duplicated or corrupt cube connections, ensuring there is only one connection per cube type (e.g., Financial Tabular, Profitability Tabular).
3. Run the file through the Cube Update function in Catalyst.

After following these steps, the duplicated EBM Office Bridge ribbon should be removed. If the issue persists, restart Excel and verify that no stale connections remain.
