Update:
As of 1/27/25, Microsoft has announced that this is resolved. However, they're slowing rolling out the fix, so we are continuing to monitor impacts and increasing memory limits proactively as a countermeasure.
Overview
As of approximately 4am CT on Friday 1/24/25 Azure Analysis Services (AAS) is currently experiencing performance issues due to a global outage identified by Microsoft. This issue has led to memory spikes, delays, and cube build failures across affected environments, including EBM. Microsoft expects to have these issues resolved by Monday 1/27/25.
What is Happening?
Microsoft has reported that a recent change caused unexpected memory usage, leading to "out of memory" errors during refresh operations. They are actively investigating and rolling back changes to resolve the issue.
